Dentures For Tooth Replacement
Dentures are prosthetic devices designed to replace missing teeth. Conventional dentures are removable; however, there are many different denture designs, some of which rely on anchoring or connecting onto existing teeth or dental implants.
Removable partial dentures are for patients who are missing some of their teeth. Many more options are available to us at this time- flexible metal-free partials are a great option!
Fixed Partial Dentures
Fixed partial dentures (Bridges) are made from crowns that are custom fit to existing teeth to act as abutments (anchors) for the replacement tooth (pontic) to replace missing teeth.
An implant-retained denture is a denture held in place by implants. Usually two to four implants are surgically placed in the bone and become integrated as the bone forms around the implant. Once the implant has integrated, Dr. Shauna Novak and Dr. Debra McGill can create an implant restoration. An implant denture is a removable denture with attachments on the underside that clip onto a bar connected to the implants. The attachments and bar hold the denture in place and keep it from moving when chewing and speaking. Patients enjoy the security and stability of implant retained dentures!
