Dental Implants

Dental implants offer a natural-looking and low maintenance solution to replace missing teeth. A dental implant is a “root” structure, usually made of titanium, that is carefully placed into the jaw where the natural root would have been. It is then left alone to integrate with the jaw bone so they fuse together. Once integrated a crown, bridge or denture can be fixed onto the implant. Dental implants can be used to:

• Replace a single missing tooth
• Replace several missing teeth using a bridge or crowns
• Replace all the teeth using crowns, bridges or implant-supported dentures

Because the implant fuses to your bone, dental implant restorations feel much like natural teeth. Some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes, such as bridge and dentures.
